I was seriously “out-ducked” in a Puget Sound Camera Club competition – the secret is go to Canada where they feed them, half the time this guy was too close to focus on
My favourite Teal, very understated but the plumage is such a good match with that red eye. They do have quite flashy bits of blue under their wings but I have never got a good image with this showing
The Pacific Garter Snake come in a variety of colours!, this pile is missing the powder blue version. The other common snake is a Water Snake but they never seem to curl up so they are not very photogenic
