A Yellow Warbler set against a very blue sky
They work hard at defining their territory by singing (screaming) and flashing their epaulettes. We loved them because they were the first bird back in the spring
A classic case of identification by wishful thinking! I eventually saw a Willow Flycatcher but not well enough to get a decent photograph. Mind you Phoebes are quite nice too, a pair would nest under our deck
