I always thought of Night Herons as hard birds to photograph until I walked around Marina del Rey in LA, they were everywhere. This one was on the superstructure of a boat just above where there was a religious service going on (obviously a LA thing)
Again a bird that has always been “over there” – this one was sitting on a roof just looking at us. It works well with the blue sky as a background
Before we lived in the US we did a trip around some of the desert National parks. Bryce Canyon – Detail – To me these Hoodoos have a touch of the Terracotta Army about them – that is until you are walking around them and they tower 100’ above you
