No sign of any white on its head so probably 4 months old (photographed in December). It is a bit of a cheat as it isn’t about to pounce on some poor unsuspecting prey – the post it was about to land on has been cloned out
Almost certainly the parent of the previous eagle. I never did find the nest of this family at Crockett Lake but they were the most approachable of the eagle families I followed (see the next image)
An older sibling, probably one year shy of being an adult so 4 or 5 years old. Sitting on driftwood at the edge of a car park. I had to back away to be able to focus on it. Quite low light so I must have caught an early ferry onto the island. But no problem, the Keystone Café was only half a mile down the road. The owner was a fisherman spending the season up in Alaska, the café was for his wife. I walked in with the big lens one day and found out that he was a great photographer!
