I mentioned cars just stopping in the road at Plum Island, this guy would regularly cause traffic jams as his favourite perches were on some of the big trees overhanging the road. Somebody wound down their car window and said “don’t bother there is a hawk jam ahead”. I tended to get there early and have some peace and quiet. The red-tailed fills the same ecological niche as our buzzard
