Cape Cod was the centre of the New England whaling fleet, this was the house built by one of the more successful captains. Remember the swallow feeding image earlier, that was here
I had a season ticket to this place (Crane Castle) because the beach on the estate was great for plovers and terns (and I so enjoyed driving past the queue at the entrance and getting a cheery wave from the person in the booth). On one of Morag’s trips we thought we aught to visit the house. It was so National Trust!
