A very under appreciated duck, I just love the patterning – going from big bold shapes on the breast to fine detail on the head and further back on the body. This one just cruised along just a few minutes after the Cinnamon Teal in the last image
The Pacific Garter Snake come in a variety of colours!, this pile is missing the powder blue version. The other common snake is a Water Snake but they never seem to curl up so they are not very photogenic
every year the pond by the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge entrance got covered with pondweed which gave this “Bas Relief” version of Bullfrogs. There is a footbridge across the pond so you could look down on them.
