every year the pond by the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge entrance got covered with pondweed which gave this “Bas Relief” version of Bullfrogs. There is a footbridge across the pond so you could look down on them.

These two are doing two very Marmoty things at the same time – soaking up the sun’s warmth and keeping an eye on a potential predator (me). On a hike close to Rainier I was high above a little alpine meadow that was full of marmots, they just ignored me, but then there was a warning squeak from one and they all disappeared in a flash – the next thing I saw was a Golden Eagle just cruising above
